An encounter

The sky is all alone and empty
So serene and still
And it’s scorching noon
Why am I eager?
To spot the celestial
Silver clouds
Moving in tune
And the lines of ibis birds
Flying in rhythm

Why did I?
Snatch the book
And turn the pages so hastily
While trying to resist
An intense outburst!

Why am I so restless?
To find the heavenly leaves
Of light green to dun
Dancing in tune with a gentle wind
On a naked tree!

Why am I?
Collecting so hurriedly
I mean, almost breathless
All that junk food at home
And had it all at one go
Later to feel copiously relieved!

Here is
The damn newspaper!
Laying fast asleep
And I wander impolitely
Biting nails with heavy perspiration
Then I tore it, crushed it and threw
It all to dustbin waiting there
And thereafter felt immensely relaxed!

As the intense temper at last
Began to recede hesitantly
The dirty swollen red face
Still groans and moans
To accept the defeat

A bright and soothing twilight
And it’s the time for
Yet another encounter
A pleasing and a graceful mind
Still boasts of a feigned anger

Desert of despair, the

As the waves vanish
At the shores
The new ones rise
To stretch their wings
Am keen to count them
For a while...
Though in vain
As the companion abandons
The new one is quick to embrace
Its heavenly bliss
To witness the sight
A magical touch
To forget the rest
Let,
The bygone footprints be bygone
Crumbled Abodes be orphaned
It’s an infinite search
On an orbit of canvas
So much to unlearn
So much to unburden
Just in case,
Got queries to pose
Please reserve them for
The desert of despair

An incessant cry

A little child cries incessantly
The warm blood flows beneath,
Kissing the palms
And turning them red...
Taken aback by
A strange incident
Beyond his reach
Papa’s delightful consolation
Has just vanished
And Mama’s celestial
Kisses are never forthcoming
Despite the routine tricks
Defeated hopelessly to get
The much needed attention
Too scared and perplexed
Of unmoving surroundings
Innocent eyes wander allover
To find an answer
Slow drops of blood
Is all one can hear
Mama still on the bed
Drowned into a cruel sleep
Papa's eyes have shut from
Flashing on and off
They turn sudden strangers
For reasons unknown
As the blood stops to drop
The red gets thicker and darker
Tired of weeping; surrenders to sleep
Keeping the hope alive
Through the fainted sight

(Written during the Mumbai terror seize)

Paradise of fantasies, the

At times,
You excite me so much
And many a time
Deeply hurt me much
Throwing up surprises
Are no strange by now
And smart enough for
A state of melancholy
Wait in vain for
The moment of magic
Through myriad touches
And great to feel
Those sigh of relief
You fill brimming courage to
Sail through life
And take me around
The layers of choke
Chuckle me often
And puzzle me too
There is sense of rhythm
In your every swing
In varied angles
And countless heights
You pass through the lungs
And cheer them up
Keep them high
And make them fly
With stunning beauty
You thrill my sight
You are naughty enough
To make me gay
And haunt me enough
As Eagle in sky
Get me drenched
By paradise of fantasies
You move my soul
And often prove your role
Well in case
You fail to do so
Then for sure
You are never
My ardent verse

Haiku – 38: definition

You can’t define
Success or failure as
Everyone has one

Done with –

Done with –
The jobs
The tensions and
The stress

Done with –
The wife
The kid and
The house

Done with –
The friends
The relations and
The peers

Done with –
The fights
The insults and
The worries

Done with -
The competition
The comparison and
The speed

Done with –
The failures
The attractions and
The challenges

Done with –
The disappointments
The weariness and
The monotonous

Done with –
The cities
The noise and
The pollution

Its time to demand –
The space
The silence and
The peace

It’s been so long
Ever since we parted
One way or No way

Haiku – 36: love

Love is so stupid
Gives you no choice
Just accept and endure

Haiku – 35: words

Words can’t describe
Many things; but emotions
And silence can

Haiku – 34: amidst

Amidst the lights you
Stand and move around
Amidst Reflections

Haiku – 33: closer

The more and more
You go closer to light
The shorter you get

Haiku – 32: light

When the light is right
On your head; it’s hard
To find the shade

Haiku - 31:survives!

No light in life;
Centuries just passed
Still, hope survives!

Haiku - 29:smiles!

A speech on women
Empowerment by a man;
Wife just smiles

Haiku - 28: live on!

Out of many good
Writers; few get noticed
But their poems live on!

Haiku - 26: rape

Every gentleman
Does rape his women
How sad! it’s legal?
